JSE provides unique courses and seminars throughout the year, utilizing our extensive network.
It covers a wide range of courses and seminarsfrom those directly related to practical business to those of more general theme for maritime industry.
Training Courses and Seminars on Shipping Practice
To support JSE members develop their careers, JSE provides training courses on practical marine transport knowledge. We focus on both the basics and specialized knowledge.
These courses, for example, include a two-day training course for new employees, as well as courses focusing on specialized areas, such as maritime law, marine insurance, and ship chartering contracts. Other courses are planned and held as needed on a wide variety of topics, including shipping market conditions, environmental issues, resource and energy issues, and international treaties.

Business Overview

Arbitration
As the only permanent maritime arbitration institution in Japan, it settles various maritime disputes.

Contract Forms
“Documentary Committee” enacts various standard contract forms in Japanese, and the forms are sold by JSE.

Appraisal
In addition to appraisals of domestic and ocean-going merchant vessels, JSE provides appraisals and certifications for all maritime transactions.

Courses and Seminars
JSE provides training courses and educational seminars to support the development of human resources in the maritime community.

Publishing
JSE distributes a variety of information on maritime affairs through the monthly magazine “KAIUN” and other publications.
