Standing Committees
The standing committees basically consists of practitioners, lawyers, and academics involved in the shipping, shipbuilding, non-life insurance, trading, steel, brokerage/agency, and financial industries. Each committee carries out the following activities.
Tokyo Maritime Arbitration Commission
Tokyo Maritime Arbitration Commission is a strictly neutral committee that manages and administers maritime arbitration.
Documentary Committee
This committee draft, promulgate and revises standard forms for charter agreements, bills of lading, and other standard forms.
Mediation Commission
The commission is in charge of operating a mediation system for calculating salvage fees for rescue compensation incurred in connection with maritime salvage of vessels.
Editorial Committee
The Editorial Committee decides the planning and editorial policy of the monthly magazine “KAIUN”.(not for other magazines and books)
Seminar Planning Committee
The purpose of this committee is to organize training courses and seminars that meet the needs of members.
