The Japan Shipping Exchange (JSE) is a fair and neutral private organization. About 400 members support our business activities. The members include all aspects of the Japanese maritime industry such as shipping, shipbuilding, ship management, insurance, shippers and trading companies, finance, brokers, law firms, and so on.

As the only permanent maritime arbitration institution in Japan, it settles various maritime disputes.
Contract Forms
“Documentary Committee” enacts various standard contract forms in Japanese, and the forms are sold by JSE.

In addition to appraisals of domestic and ocean-going merchant vessels, JSE provides appraisals and certifications for all maritime transactions.
Courses and Seminars
JSE provides training courses and educational seminars to support the development of human resources in the maritime community.
Publishing
JSE distributes a variety of information on maritime affairs through the monthly magazine “KAIUN” and other publications.
